How Do Online Students Take Tests?
Posted byOnline learning has come a long from the time it was first introduced in the mid-1980s using DOS and Commodore 64 computers. Today, millions of students across the world sign up for short term and long term degree programs. Test taking is an important element of the learning process with different colleges using different techniques to evaluate their students. We list some of the popular methods for you:
Proctored Test Taking:
When students live close to the college, they can visit designated centers to take tests. This is a little like classroom-based test taking process where a specific time is set aside for students to attend. When students live far away from these study centers, the college can make arrangements for officials in another school or library to act as proctors for the test.
Tests Monitored by Humans or Software:
This process is somewhat similar to the conventional test taking process where online students have to take the test under the supervision of humans via webcam or software. There are several companies offering to help colleges monitor students and ensure that there is little scope for cheating. If your college uses this method, you may have to fix an appointment with the instructor prior to the test.
Tests Monitored Solely by Software:
This method is growing increasingly popular because it does not involve seeking prior appointment and can be done quickly. All you need is a webcam, microphone, computer, and a reliable internet connection to attend an exam. The software looks for signs that the student is cheating.
For all of the methods used, we can help students with their online tests. All that they have to do is to call us and ask, “Can you take my online class?”
